Epic Resolved Fortnite Summer Skirmish Tournament Tiebreaker with a Coin Toss

Epic Games' Fortnite 'Summer Skirmish Tournament' has officially ended, and competitive player Morgausse walked away with $1.5 million prize money. However, there was a slight dilemma during the final qualifying match when two players Colton and The_Real_Cryohme tied for the last spot to take a shot at winning the title.

Well, Epic decided to resolve the tie with a, wait for it, a coin toss. Yes, Epic relied on the oldest tiebreaker in the book to see who gets to advance to the final round. In the end, luck favored Cryohme and Colton lost his spot. Obviously, a coin flip isn't an ideal solution for this particular scenario, but there were no alternatives in place.

Epic eSports designer Colin "SkyzYn" Fogle noted that they (Epic Games) themselves aren't big fans of having to rely on a coin flip, and are now considering alternative ways to break a tie.
