Google Wants to End URLs to Bring in Safer and Simpler Web Addresses

Google Wants to End URLs to Bring in Safer

Google wants to change how we visit web addresses by replacing 'confusing' URLs with a simpler and more secure alternative that cannot be exploited by cybercriminals to dupe users.
In an interview with Wired, Chrome's Engineering Manager, Adrienne Porter Felt expressed that URLs have become very confusing as well as unsafe, which is why Google is pondering over better options that can replace URLs.
However, the team at Google is yet to decide what the so-called 'URL alternative' will look like and how it will function, but research work is currently underway at full throttle.
